She’ll swallow up your guilt. You can’t look her in the eyes. Those goddamed emerald green eyes that bury deep into your core, twisting every heartstring you have left. Truth is you never stopped thinking of her. But she put you through hell. She drove you mad, caused you to throw away your money on cheap hookers to numb the pain. This anger only makes you want her more. She’s good at what she does. She gulps a sob back, and twists harder with the tears and the gimmicks, and the deception. And you obey, because you are nothing but a man in love. She knows your weakness, and she uses it. You cave and tell her ‘just one drink’, ‘just one talk’, ‘just one cigarette’. She’s won. She always gets her man. Damnit Ava. |
